14. TROUBLESHOOTING
If the heat pump starts behaving
strangely, without any of the alarms
listed in paragraph 5.6 occurring,
before you contact a technical
service centre it is wise to check
whether the problem can be resolved
easily using the table below.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES
The heat pump does not start
• There is no electricity
• The main circuit switch is open
• The plug has not been inserted into the socket cor-
rectly, or not enough to make contact
• The protective fuse in the socket has blown
The compressor and/or fan do/does not start
• The set safety times have not yet elapsed
• The system is satisfi ed (no load request)
• The electrical connection has become loose
The heat pump starts and stops repeatedly • The selected set point and/or differential values
are incorrect
The heat pump continues to run without
stopping
• Excessive heat load
• The selected set point and/or differential values are in-
correct
The system produces unusual vibrations and noises
• The outer casing is vibrating
• The air and/or water channels are vibrating
The heating element does not come on • Its intervention is not required
• The plug has not been inserted into the socket
correctly, or not enough to make contact
WARNING: if the operator has
not been successful in resolving the
problem, switch off the machine and
contact the authorised Technical
Service Centre, quoting the relevant
data provided on the data plate.
15. DISPOSAL
When they can no longer be used,
AERMEC S.p.A. heat pumps should
be disposed of in compliance with
current regulations. In particular,
the European Directive 2002/96/
EC relating to waste electrical and
electronic equipment requires
disposal outside the normal solid urban
waste channel. Decommissioned
appliances should be collected
separately to optimise the recovery
and recycling rate for the materials
used in their construction, and to
prevent any potential damage to
human health or the environment.
The main materials used to construct
AERMEC S.p.A. heat pumps are as
follows:
• Steel
• Magnesium
• Plastic
• Copper
• Aluminium
• Polyurethane
In general, however, it is wise to try switching the unit off and on again before contacting the technical service centre.
