Connect to Log Server
Select logs recorded by the system and register/set the server to manage logs.
Log Level
The log level is specified by the administrator.
Based on syslog’s level, there are five different levels, from lowest to highest: Debug, Information,
Warning, Error and Critical.
If you select a low log level, the system will record logs higher than the level.
You can change the log level in the local server settings.
Log Type
There are four types of logs: event, firewall, security and VPN.
Event Log
Go to Monitor Center > Menu > Log > Event Log to search for/check event logs on system events and
administrator’s policy settings.
Firewall Log
Go to Monitor Center > Menu > Log > Firewall Log to search for/check firewall logs on packets and
sessions allowed/denied/expired according to the firewall policy.
Security and VPN logs are recorded with the firewall logs.
Security logs record application of other security policies, except for firewall policy.
VPN logs record creation of VPN tunnel and user login/logout. VPN communication is recorded in
firewall log.
Connection Log
Logs on packets/sessions that have been allowed connection: “allow” when session starts, and “expire”
when session times out.
Caution
If you deselect both Allow and Expire to record on connection log, the connection log will not be
recorded.
