Troubleshooting Chapter 10
DeviceNet
Network Status
(NS)
None —
The EtherNet/IP communication
auxiliary module is not receiving
power.
Check the DeviceNet cable
connections and verify that 24V
DC exists between the red and
black terminals.
Green, Red,
Not Illuminated
Flashing
(once)
Normal
This is a normal power-up
sequence.
Green Flashing
The EtherNet/IP communication
auxiliary module is not
configured to scan any
DeviceNet slave devices.
Check the DeviceNet scan list for
the correct scanner
configuration.
Green Solid
Normal operating state and the
EtherNet/IP communication
auxiliary module is scanning
DeviceNet slave devices.
No action is required.
Red Flashing
One or more DeviceNet
connections timed out.
Reset the EtherNet/IP
communication auxiliary
module.
Red Solid
Diagnostics test failed on power-
up/reset. An internal fault exists.
Cycle power to the unit. If the
fault still exists, replace the unit.
Duplicate DeviceNet module
address exists. Two modules
cannot have the same address.
Change the MAC address to a
valid setting and reset the
device.
A fatal communication error
occurred.
Check DeviceNet media for
proper installation.
