Kinetix 350 Drive Safe Torque-off Feature
Certification
The safe torque-off circuit is type-approved and certified for use in safety
applications up to and including ISO 13849-1 performance level d (PLd)
safety category 3.
The TÜV Rheinland group has approved the Kinetix® 350 drives for use in
safety-related applications up to ISO 13849-1 performance level d (PLd) safety
category 3, in which the de-energized state is considered to be the safe state. All
examples that are related to I/O included in this manual are based on achieving
de-energization as the safe state for typical machine safety systems.
Important Safety Considerations
You are responsible for the following:
• Validation of any sensors or actuators that are connected to the drive
system
• Completing a machine-level risk assessment
• Certification of the machine to the desired EN ISO 13849-1
performance level
• Project management and proof testing
• Programming the application software and the device configurations in
accordance with the information in this safety reference manual and the
drive product manual
