e) Note that the AM-48 will
not turn itself off if a time of
0 is set. A time of 0 is not a desirable setting
when using batteries.

Set Blanking Interval (see Figure 7-1 and 7.8).
a) Go to BLANC display.
b) Set desired blanking interval value.
c) This value is stored in non-volatile memory (factory
setting is 125 ms).
d) The meaning of the blanking interval for timed tests is
explained in 8.9.
e) Note the Bell and IEEE standard settings listed in
Figure 7-1.
7.13 Send Momentary Variable Tones
1. With the switches and cursor set per Figure 7-1, program desired
frequencies on the number keys per 7.12.2.
2. The level of the tone sent is the value in the LEVL display,
stored in volatile memory (factory setting is 125 ms).
3. Go to the QUIET termination display, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
Note: First select SEND 1004 and then step backwards to select
QUIET termination.
4. Press the appropriate number key; [0], [1], [2], . . . . [9], to send
the desired frequency.
5. The tone will be sent for as long as the key is held down.
