APPENDIX D î SPINDLE ENTRY CODES AND SMC/SRC VALUES
Each spindle has a two-digit entry code which is entered via the keypad on the DVNext. The entry code allows the
DVNext to calculate Viscosity, Shear Rate and Shear Stress values. Each spindle has two constants which are used
in these calculations. The Spindle Multiplier Constant (SMC) used for viscosity and shear stress calculations, and the
Shear Rate Constant (SRC), used for shear rate and shear stress calculations. Note that where SRC = 0, no shear
rate/shear stress calculations are done, and the data displayed is zero (0) for these functions.
