Part e: Temporarily turn o Firewall/security preferences
Remember that Windows Defender Firewall must always be disabled to communicate with the DVNext FTP Client
unless you configure specific FTP settings.
Make sure the FTP server can communicate with your DVNext devices by turning o Windows Defender Firewall for
both private and public networks on your Windows PC/Laptop. To disable Windows Defender Firewall, begin by
clicking the Windows icon at the bottom left of your screen on your Windows computer.
Begin to type the word "Firewall". Once the “Windows Defender Firewall” from Control Panel pops up (Figure I- 34),
click it. It should open a window that looks like Figure I- 35.

Next, on the left side of the Windows Defender Firewall window, click the “Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or o”
option (Figure I- 36). Your screen should now look like Figure I- 37.
