worn cran king shaft, etc.; replace if necessary.

Use a crank hand le with a re coil dam per.

Hold the hand le bar so that it can not twist and quic -
kly turn the crank so that continuous traction
between the en gi ne and crank is ensured.

If re coil oc curs due to cau ti ous tur ning whe re the
en gi ne starts in the opposite sense of rotation
under certain cir cums tan ces (smoke from the air
filter), release the crank hand le immediately and
stop the engine.

To re pe at the star ting pro cess, wait un til the en gi ne
has stop ped; only then recommence start pre pa ra -
tions.

turns with the engine.
