3.6 Ope ra ti on
Set the en gi ne speed le ver (1) to «MAX».
Ad just the dri ve di rec ti on and speed at the dri ve le ver (2).
The pro per po si ti on for the ope ra tor is be hind the ma chi ne.
Gui de and steer the ma chi ne at the draw bar grip (3); the ope -
ra tor should go along si de the draw bar.

The en gi ne has to cut-off by long wor king bre aks.
Start-up of the ex ci ter may be im pe ded.

be im pe ded. Then the en gi ne can not re ach its no mi -
nal RPM.

se ve ral ti mes.

ces can cau se the ma chi ne to tip over or skid. This
can cau se se ve re in ju ry or death.

Nav i gate slopes care fully, and al ways drive up ward
in a straight di rec tion.

Drive up steep slopes back wards to keep from tip -
ping the ma chine.

At ditch edges and ter races, and in front of ob sta -
cles, guide the ma chine so that the ma chine op er a -
tor can not be in jured by fall ing or crush ing.

When driv ing the ma chine back wards, guide the
ma chine side ways to pre vent the ma chine op er a tor
from be ing crushed.

Keep ad e quate dis tance from trench edges and
em bank ments.

Re frain from any work method that im pairs the ma -
chine's sta bil ity.

Do not dri ve on hard con cre te, har de ned bi tu men
sur fa ces, or ground that is fro zen so lid or does not
have ade qua te load ca pa ci ty.
Ha zard from coup ling da ma ge.
For ma chi nes with ma nu al start the risk of clutch da -
ma ge is by rub bing cen tri fu gal clutch.

The En gi ne speed should al ways be well be low or
well abo ve the en ga ging speed of the cen tri fu gal
clutch (ap prox. 1200 rpm).
Be wa re of ma te ri al da ma ge.

When com pac ting in ter lo cking pa ving sto nes, it is
re com men ded that wear-pro tec ti on pla tes and
protective brackets (op tio nal equip ment) be used to
pre vent da ma ge to the ma chi ne and com pac ti on
ma ter ials.
