6.4 Starting
Prerequisites All preliminary requirements for start-up must be fulfilled before switching
on the pump.

Before starting the medium-consistency pump, the following
parameters must be fulfilled:
• Stand pipe and pump casing must be filled with the medium.
• Check sealing water quantity and pressure. (see Chapter
DESCRIPTION)
• The valve in the delivery pipe is completely closed at first.
Automatic starting All the necessary steps are performed automatically by the distributed
control system during start-up.
Manual start-up Carry out the following steps for manual start-up.
DANGER
.. if the pump is run dry!
This can result in risks to life and limb and in damage to the
machine.
The pump should never be allowed to run dry under any
circumstances, not even briefly.
CAUTION
Open the valve in the delivery pipe immediately after starting up the
pump.
Set the flow rate by adjusting the speed!

1 Switch on motor START
2 Open delivery-side valve OPEN
