7.9 Changing the anti-friction bearings with oil lubrication
The anti-friction bearings are designed for continuous operation under full
load for approximately 50000 operating hours. Higher bearing
temperature and vibration at the bearing support are a sign of an
impending bearing damage. If these symptoms occur, the bearing must
be changed.
Change the anti-friction bearings according to the following table:
Step Procedure
1 Shut down pump according to Chapter on "Operation".
2 Remove pull-out unit according to Section 8.8.1.
3 Remove bearing as per Section 7.9
4 Dismount shaft seal according to Chapter 8.11.
5 Remove housing cover (161) and stuffing box casing (451).
6 Remove splash rings (507.1 and 507.2), bearing cover (360.1,
360.2
) and mounting angle (575). Install the bearing vertically
with the coupling side upwards.
7 Detach locking plate (931.1) and locking nut (923).
8 Dismount shaft, including anti-friction bearing parts, using
lifting gear.
9 Remove the remaining anti-friction bearing parts from the
bearing housing.
Remove the bearing parts on the shaft using the pull-out unit.
CAUTION: Baffle plates (504.1 - 504.4)
10 Clean all parts to be re-used and prepare new parts
(anti-friction bearings, radial seals).
11 Mount the baffle plates (504.1 - 504.3) and pull the inner ring of
the cylindrical roller bearing (
322) onto the shaft by heating
(approx. 80°C).
Tighten the inner rings of the angular contact ball bearings
(
321) using the lock nut (923) and secure (931.1).
12 Place the baffle plate (504.2) in the bearing housing.
Place the outer ring of the cylindrical roller bearing (322) in
the bearing housing.
13 Mount bearing cover (360.1) with new O-ring (412.1) and new
radial shaft seal (
421.1) (554.1/920.1).
CAUTION: The raised area in the bearing cover must be at
the 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position. (see
Abb. 7-11)
14 Install the bearing housing vertically with the coupling side
upwards.
