General machine
checks
The following checks should be made when the machine has been shut
down:
In the course of general machine checks, all additional units should also
be checked to guarantee that the entire plant functions satisfactorily. For
these checks, the attached maintenance and upkeep instructions
provided by the manufacturer must be observed.
/MEDIUM CONSISTENCY PUMP MC/SUPPLIER DOCUMENTATION
Malfunctions and inadmissible changes found during these checks must
be rectified immediately.
Cleaning Clean the medium-consistency pump with a hose and brush when it is
shut down.
Component Checks
Shaft seal Leaks and wear
Bearing Amount of lubricant or oil
Static seals Leaks
Coupling Wear on the coupling pads
Complete pump Visual check

WARNING
Contact with the pulp may cause skin damage and burning.
Persons handling the pulp should not suffer from an allergic
condition to such substances.
Personal protective apparel must be worn.
CAUTION
Do not use caustic agents for cleaning.
Make sure no water, steam or other cleaning agents enter electrical
components.
