Patient monitor User’s manual
Chapter 15-3
In addition to the Cardiac Index (or Cardiac Output) the DO2I considers the
Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) and the haemoglobin content of the blood. In
pathological situations (e.g. loss of blood, respiration limitations) this
parameter may be preferred to the CI. But consider that the values for the
oxygen saturation and haemoglobin content are needed for this parameter.
DO2I = CI * SpO2 * 1.38 * HB / 10
The unit of HB (Haemoglobin) will be g/dl.
Reference range: male: 520985 ml/min/m2
female: 460860 ml/min/m2
15.3 Safety Information
Warning:
Do not allow patients to wear ICG sensors when undergoing Magnetic
Resonance Imaging (MRI) due to risk of severe burns.
Ensure that the sensor gel, sensors or lead wires do not contact any
other conductive materials (including earth-grounded materials)
during patient monitoring.
The ICG measurement is designed for assessment of most adult
patients. ( height 122-229 cm and weight 30-159 kg).
Before monitoring patients with pacemakers, ensure that the function
of the pacemaker cannot be influenced by the measuring current used
for impedance cardiography. In the case of minute ventilation
pacemakers the use of the ICG module is not allowed if the minute
ventilation function of the pacemaker is activated.
The ICG sensor can only be applied to a patient at one time.
The ICG module belongs to the application class BF (Body Floating).
Therefore, the sensors can be freely placed on the intact body surface.
A direct contact with the heart or vessels is not allowed.
Because of hygienic reasons only use disposable ICG sensors.
The ICG module is not intended to be used while exposing the patient
to high frequency current.
The measuring unit should neither be placed on a surface, which
emits heat nor exposed to direct sunlight.
