Chapter 18-2
BIS values reflect patients’ conscious levels. The values range from 100 to
0. A value of 100 indicates a fully conscious state, whereas a value of 0
indicates no brain power activities.
SQI values reflect signal quality, as well as the value reliability of BIS,
SEF, TP, SR within the last minute. SQI values range from 0 % to 100%.
Values cannot be deduced.
Reliable values cannot be deduced.
Reliable values can be obtained.
EMG values reflect the electric work and the artifacts of high frequency of
muscular activities. The possibly minimal EMG value can be about 25dB.
1) EMG<55dB: This is an acceptable EMG;
2) EMG
≤
30dB: This is the optimal EMG.
SR is the time duration percentage of EEG in a considered inhibition state
within the last 63 seconds.
SEF is a certain frequency less than 95% of the total power of the
TP values indicate the powers of frequency bands ranging from 0.5Hz to
30Hz. Their applicable range is between 30 and 100dB.
BC values are used to quantitate inhibition by measuring the number of
EEG burst pulse within each minute. A "burst" is defined as a short EEG
active phase, preceded and followed by a resting phase respectively.
