Important: The hallway bus cable shall not exceed a maximum length of
300m(1000ft).
2.5.1 Daisy Chaining Hallway Devices
Hallway devices include dome lights (NUDL4S and NUDL2S) and Passive Bus Concentrators
(NUPBC-H). The devices connect to the hallway bus and can be daisy chained.
The normal configuration for the hallway bus is to daisy chain the devices. All devices are
equipped with two RJ-45 connectors for easy chaining. However, the devices connect
serially, so removing one device will break the chain. The preferred way of connecting the
devices is by means of a 3-way RJ-45 splitter. Removing a device from a splitter will not
break the chain, nor affect the other devices. It will only remove one room from the
hallway bus.

The Ascom Part Number for the splitter is HC-RJ-45-SPLTR. The splitter comes in packages
of five.
