GENERAL SAFETY BEFORE YOU
SERVICE THE MACHINE
Read the safety decals and information decals on the
machine. Read the operator’s manual. Understand the
operation of the machine before you start servicing.

Before you service the machine, put a Do Not Operate tag
on the instrument panel. This tag, Astec part number
AU103157, is available from your dealer. The Do Not
Operate tag is included with your machine.
Use the correct safety clothing and safety equipment.
Understand how to use a fire extinguisher and first aid kit.
PLASTIC AND RESIN PARTS
Avoid using gasoline, kerosene, paint thinner, etc., when
cleaning plastic windows, console, instrument cluster,
monitor, gauges, etc. Use ONLY water, mild soap and a
soft cloth when you clean these parts.
Using gasoline, kerosene, thinner, etc., will cause
decoloration, cracking or deformation of the part being
cleaned.
ENVIRONMENT
Before you service this machine and before you dispose of
the old fluids or lubricants always remember the
environment. DO NOT put oil or fluids into the ground or
into containers that can leak.
Check with your local environment or recycling center or
your dealer for correct disposal information.
ENGINE HOURMETER
The engine Hourmeter (1) (if equipped) shows the
amount of actual hours the engine has run. The first
number to the right displays tenths of an hour and the
remaining numbers to the left display hours. Use the
engine Hourmeter along with the Lubrication/
Maintenance Chart to service your machine at the correct
time periods.

Raised equipment on the machine
without an operator can cause injury or death.
Before you leave the operators compartment,
always support or lower the equipment (backhoe,
blade, boom, bucket, etc.) to the ground and stop
the engine.
WARNING:
Replace all covers or guards after
servicing or cleaning the machine. NEVER operate
the machine with covers or guards removed.
