2. Remove (counterclockwise) and discard the fuel
filter.
3. Fill the new filter with clean diesel fuel.
4. Apply a thin layer of clean oil to the gasket of the
new filter.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use a filter wrench to tighten the
filter. You can cause a leak if the filter is dented with the
wrench.
5. Install the filter. Use your hands to tighten the filter
clockwise onto the filter body until the filter makes
contact with the filter head. Continue to tighten the
filter with your hand for 1/2 turn.
6. Start the engine and check for leaks at the filter.
Removing Air From Fuel System
The Deutz Model F2L1011 engine is equipped with an
automatic fuel bleed system. If the fuel tank becomes
empty or when the fuel filter is replaced, turn the ignition
key to start. Excess starting fuel is automatically removed
from the fuel system.
NOTE:
You must be seated in the operators seat to start
the engine.
HYDRAULIC OIL SYSTEM
Hydraulic Fluid Level
Check the hydraulic reservoir oil level every 10 hours of
operation or one time each day, whichever occurs first.
1. Park the machine on a level surface and put all
attachments in the TRANSPORT position.
2. Stop the engine and remove the key.
3. Clean the area around the dipstick with cleaning
solvent.

4. Remove the dipstick (1) and wipe with a clean
cloth.
5. Install the dipstick completely and remove.
6. The fluid level must be between the FULL and ADD
marks on the dipstick. If the fluid level is below the
ADD mark, add fluid to raise the fluid level up to the
FULL mark.
Fluid Change
Change the hydraulic fluid every 1000 hours of operation
or each year, whichever occurs first.
1. Remove the Dipstick.

2. Remove the drain plug and drain the reservoir. The
reservoir capacity is approximately 35 litres (9.3 U.S.
gallons).
3. Install the drain plug.
NOTE:
It is recommended that you change the return
and suction filters and clean the suction screens when
you change the hydraulic fluid.

6. See Suction Screens in this manual and clean the
suction screens.
7. Fill the reservoir with hydraulic fluid.
NOTE:
See Lubricant Specifications in this manual for the
hydraulic fluid specifications.
8. Install the dipstick.
9. Start the engine. Run the engine at idle for
approximately two (2) minutes.
10. Stop the engine.
NOTE:
You must be seated in the operators seat to start
the engine.
11. Check for leaks at the filter and suction screens.
12. Check the fluid level.
