2 Installing the MediaPack
This section provides information on the installation procedure for the MP-11x (refer to Section
2.1 below) and the MP-124 (refer to Section 2.2 on page 13). For information on configuring the
gateway, refer to Section 3 on page 18.
Warning: The MediaPack is supplied as a sealed unit and must only be installed
and serviced by qualified service personnel.
Warning: Units providing power sockets with three pins must be connected by service
personnel to a socket-outlet with a protective earthing connection.
2.1 Installing the MP-11x
¾ To install the MP-11x, take these 4 steps:
1. Unpack the MP-11x (refer to Section 2.1.1 below).
2. Check the package contents (refer to Section 2.1.2 below).
3. Mount the MP-11x (refer to Section 2.1.4 on page 9).
4. Cable the MP-11x (refer to Section 2.1.5 on page 15).
After connecting the MP-11x to the power source, the Ready and Power LEDs on the front panel
turn to green (after a self-testing period of about two minutes). Any malfunction in the startup
procedure changes the Fail LED to red and the Ready LED is turned off (refer to Table 6-1 on
page 32 for details on the MP-11x LEDs).
When you have completed the above relevant sections you are then ready to start configuring the
gateway (Section 3 on page 18).
2.1.1 Unpacking
¾ To unpack the MP-11x, take these 6 steps:
1. Open the carton and remove the packing materials.
2. Remove the MP-11x gateway from the carton.
3. Check that there is no equipment damage.
4. Check, retain and process any documents.
5. Notify AudioCodes or your local supplier of any damage or discrepancies.
6. Retain any diskettes or CDs.
2.1.2 Package Contents
Ensure that in addition to the MP-11x, the package contains:
AC power cable.
Small plastic bag containing four anti-slide bumpers for desktop installation.
A CD with software and documentation may be included.
