The unit should appear in the window if everything has been properly congured.
Note: the remote unit will be able to connect only after granting of the server remote access by the administrator.
5.5. Possible errors:
If on the bottom of the Connection Settings window the message in red will be displayed, please check the access to the
server using Putty and if appropriate rights have been given by the administrator.
The rst remote access connection to the server from your computer may require consent for remote connection and saving
so called ngerprint. To do this, using e.g. Putty try to connect to the server. During the rst attempt you will be asked for
permission and you should save this consent, please DO NOT LOGO ON but Disconnect and connect again.
6. Software compatibility
The ocial versions possess three identication characters:
x.y.z
For the ocial version it is acceptable (but not preferred) to have four-character marking, but in this situation the last character
always has to be zero “0”:
x.y.z.0
Subsequent version numbers may only increase (in time), however increasing the number of the more signicant character
isalways accompanied by resetting the less signicant character.
The importance of the individual characters:
X (major number) – it is a so called major version. This number is changed only in special cases, while introducing major changes
to the functioning and structure of the software.
It is forbidden to interchange software versions with dierent major number. Such a change could mean eg. change of the operat-
ing system, framework, core libraries, and will almost always results in a lack of backwards compatibility. Also, there is no guarantee
of correct functioning of the hardware. In particular, substitution of software – even if successful – can cause permanent damages
to the device. There is also no guarantee of proper functioning of the equipment after returning to the previous version of the
software. Replacement of the software in this case should always be consulted with the software provider.
Y (API number / feature) – this number is always increased at the time when dierences at the Application Programming Interface
level occur – that is, very often when adding new functionality to the ocially released version. Additional bug xes may also
appear but this is not a rule. Changing the number on the Y level due to other (e.g. new) functionality will usually mean the lack of
full software compatibility, but does not exclude that the new functionality does not aect compatibility. Such a change ensures
no damage to the equipment after replacing the software. Information of software backwards compatibility should always be
provided during the ocial release.
Z (bug number) – number incremented always at the subsequent bug xes. Compatibility of hardware and software backwards
is guaranteed. There is no new functionality resulting in the lack of backwards compatibility. This means that the FW / SW is fully
compatible when X.Y are the same (the dierence being xed errors or minor adjustments).
