Conversely,thefollowingillustrationdepictsasituationinwhichyouaretheboatinthecenterand
youaretheburdenedvessel.Youmustgiveright-of-waytoallvesselscomingtowardsyoufromthe
directionsshowningreen.
Whenmeetinghead-on,neithervesselhastherightofway.Bothboatsshoulddecreasespeed,
turntowardstheirright(starboardside)andpassontheirleftsides(port-to-port).However,ifbothboats
areclearlyoneachother’sright(starboard)sidethen,eachvesselshouldsoundtwoshortblastsand
passontheirrightsides(starboard-to-starboard).
