Carpet and non-ski deck tracon are available in Axis
models. The added comfort requires some addional
aenon to the interior of the deck. It is important to allow
the carpet/mat to dry before covering the deck with a
mooring cover or other canvas. (The snap-out carpets can be
removed to air dry.) Although Axis carpets are constructed
from marine-grade materials, if they do not dry thoroughly
before storage, even short-duraon, mold and mildew can
set in. Addional informaon is available in the Care and
Maintenance secon of this Owner’s Manual.
The snap-out carpet hardware is made from stainless steel
to resist rust and corrosion. However, boat owners and operators should rounely check that the snaps are
in good condion. Any me the snap-out carpets are reinstalled on the deck, be certain that the snaps are
fully connected. Otherwise, the carpet could dislodge or move, causing passengers to slip and fall.
Ensure that snap-out carpets are secure prior to walking on
them. If the snaps are not fully connected, the carpet may not
function as designed. When dislodged, carpets and mats could
cause a passenger to slip and fall.
Models: The AquaFusion carpet and non-skid deck tracon are available as opons on all Axis models.
Boats are equipped with grab handles for added convenience and safety. Handles are generally inside
the deck above passenger seang and on the transom, centered above the swim plaorm. The handles
assist boarding, parcularly from the swim plaorm into the deck area. During boat operaon, the grab
handles inside the deck can provide addional security for passengers. (No one should ever be on the swim
plaorm during boat operaon. More on this in the Safety secon of this Owners Manual.)
The handles are craed from stainless steel or anodized aluminum to resist rust and corrosion. Roune
maintenance should include regular cleaning.
Interior grab handles may be used by passengers to hold on to
during boat operation. The handles are sturdy surfaces, which
means that if an individual is thrown against them bruising or
abrasions may result. If the boat is being operated in a manner
that results in excessive movement of the passengers, or if people are shoving each other,
even playfully, at any time, injury is possible. Malibu strongly recommends that this kind
of activity be avoided at all times. Do not use the handles to secure or tie the boat up as this
can cause damage that is not covered by warranty.
Models: All models. Locaons vary. Operators and passengers should acquaint themselves with the
locaons prior to operaon.
A popular opon on all models is the heater. Warm air is blown through a liquid/air heat exchanger using
hot water or coolant from the engine. Vent locaons vary by model, so owners/operators and passengers
should familiarize themselves with the locaons. The vents have sliding, direconal gates that can redirect
the air ow, or even shut it o.
The heater is controlled from a dash switch. This is a three-posion switch that operates at low or high
speed, or OFF.
Be aware that operaon of the heater is a drain on the baery. Review the Electrical secon in the
Instrument Panel and Gauges poron of this Owners Manual for important informaon regarding how to
avoid becoming stranded by a fully discharged baery or baeries. Pay aenon to the voltmeter reading;
whenever it falls below 10.5 volts, the baery requires recharging.
