Carpet and non-ski deck tracon are available in Axis
models. The added comfort requires some addional
aenon to the interior of the deck. It is important to allow
the carpet/mat to dry before covering the deck with a
mooring cover or other canvas. (The snap-out carpets can be
removed to air dry.) Although Axis carpets are constructed
from marine-grade materials, if they do not dry thoroughly
before storage, even short-duraon, mold and mildew can
set in. Addional informaon is available in the Care and
Maintenance secon of this Owner’s Manual.
The snap-out carpet hardware is made from stainless steel
to resist rust and corrosion. However, boat owners and operators should rounely check that the snaps are
in good condion. Any me the snap-out carpets are reinstalled on the deck, be certain that the snaps are
fully connected. Otherwise, the carpet could dislodge or move, causing passengers to slip and fall.
Ensure that snap-out carpets are secure prior to walking on
them. If the snaps are not fully connected, the carpet may not
function as designed. When dislodged, carpets and mats could
cause a passenger to slip and fall.
Models: The AquaFusion carpet and non-skid deck tracon are available as opons on all Axis models.
Boats are equipped with grab handles for added convenience and safety. Handles are generally inside
the deck above passenger seang and on the transom, centered above the swim plaorm. The handles
assist boarding, parcularly from the swim plaorm into the deck area. During boat operaon, the grab
handles inside the deck can provide addional security for passengers. (No one should ever be on the swim
plaorm during boat operaon. More on this in the Safety secon of this Owner’s Manual.)
The handles are craed from stainless steel or anodized aluminum to resist rust and corrosion. Roune
maintenance should include regular cleaning.
Interior grab handles may be used by passengers to hold on to
during boat operation. The handles are sturdy surfaces, which
means that if an individual is thrown against them bruising or
abrasions may result. If the boat is being operated in a manner
that results in excessive movement of the passengers, or if people are shoving each other,
even playfully, at any time, injury is possible. Malibu strongly recommends that this kind
of activity be avoided at all times. Do not use the handles to secure or tie the boat up as this
can cause damage that is not covered by warranty.
Models: All models. Locaons vary. Operators and passengers should acquaint themselves with the
locaons prior to operaon.
A popular opon on all models is the heater. Warm air is blown through a liquid/air heat exchanger using
hot water or coolant from the engine. Vent locaons vary by model, so owners/operators and passengers
should familiarize themselves with the locaons. The vents have sliding, direconal gates that can redirect
the air ow, or even shut it o.
The heater is controlled from a dash switch. This is a three-posion switch that operates at low or high
speed, or OFF.
Be aware that operaon of the heater is a drain on the baery. Review the Electrical secon in the
Instrument Panel and Gauges poron of this Owner’s Manual for important informaon regarding how to
avoid becoming stranded by a fully discharged baery or baeries. Pay aenon to the voltmeter reading;
whenever it falls below 10.5 volts, the baery requires recharging.
