Before geng underway, operaons checks should be completed to ensure a safe and enjoyable
oung. Verify that:
q All safety requirements as outlined in the Safety secon of this Owner’s Manual have been met.
q Review the pre-launch requirements as outlined by the trailer manufacturer, and the preparaons as
required by the engine/drive-train manufacturer.
q The total number of people and gear on-board does not exceed the maximum allowed and as indicated
on the capacity plate. These informaonal plates are located in the interior near the driver’s helm.
q All gear is properly stowed. Gear that is le loose on the deck can become dislodged, move about
during operaon and could potenally go overboard or strike an individual on-board, resulng in
potenal injury.
q A oat plan or oung informaon has been le with someone ashore. This means that if any issues
arise, there is a person to raise an alarm if you do not return as planned. (Cell phones are great, but
somemes service is not available, so this should not be the only plan in the event of problems.)
q Ensure there is sucient fuel in the fuel tank for the oung or have a plan for re-fueling.
q Be sure that the weather forecast does not include threatening condions. Also check predicted wind
and water condions.
q Check that the drain plugs are all fully and correctly installed.
q Ensure that PFDs and other safety gear are on-board.
q Be sure that all on-board re exnguishing equipment is fully charged and easily accessible.
q Go through the pre-oung maintenance checklist, as outline in the Care and Maintenance secon of
this Owner’s Manual.
q Give all the on-board equipment and components (such as the tower) a nal check to be certain that
everything is secure and ready for the expected boang condions.
