Before geng underway, operaons checks should be completed to ensure a safe and enjoyable
oung. Verify that:
q All safety requirements as outlined in the Safety secon of this Owner’s Manual have been met.
q Review the pre-launch requirements as outlined by the trailer manufacturer, and the preparaons as
required by the engine/drive-train manufacturer.
q The total number of people and gear on-board does not exceed the maximum allowed and as indicated
on the capacity plate. These informaonal plates are located in the interior near the driver’s helm.
q All gear is properly stowed. Gear that is le loose on the deck can become dislodged, move about
during operaon and could potenally go overboard or strike an individual on-board, resulng in
potenal injury.
q A oat plan or oung informaon has been le with someone ashore. This means that if any issues
arise, there is a person to raise an alarm if you do not return as planned. (Cell phones are great, but
somemes service is not available, so this should not be the only plan in the event of problems.)
q Ensure there is sucient fuel in the fuel tank for the oung or have a plan for re-fueling.
q Be sure that the weather forecast does not include threatening condions. Also check predicted wind
and water condions.
q Check that the drain plugs are all fully and correctly installed.
q Ensure that PFDs and other safety gear are on-board.
q Be sure that all on-board re exnguishing equipment is fully charged and easily accessible.
q Go through the pre-oung maintenance checklist, as outline in the Care and Maintenance secon of
this Owner’s Manual.
q Give all the on-board equipment and components (such as the tower) a nal check to be certain that
everything is secure and ready for the expected boang condions.
