9. Perform a lens H OME & RETURN operation. (See user guide of the Communicator cha p ter Installation > Advanced > Lens
parameters)
Note: The HOM E & RETUR N operation enab les the projector to determine the reference positions of the motorized Z OOM and
FOCUS barrels of the installed lens.
A Spatial Color Calibration (SCC) has to be execu te in case of a first install or in case a High Brightness
lens is swapped with a High Contrast lens or vice ve rsa. See user guide o f the C omm unicator for detail SCC
calibration instructions.
CAUTION: Never transport the projector with a Len s mounted in the Lens Holder. Always remove the Lens
before transp orting the p rojector. Neglecting this can damage the Lens Holder an d Prism.
3.4 Lens removal
How to remove a lens from the Lens Holde r?
1. Support the lens with one ha nd while you unlock the lens holder by sliding the loc k handle (reference 1 image 3-5) towards the
“unlocked” position as illustrated.
2. Gently pull the lens out of the lens holder, maintaining its coaxial direction.

It’s recomme nded to place the Lens caps of the original Lens packaging, back o n both sides of the removed
Lens to protect the optics of the Lens.
It’s recommen ded to place the plastic cover of the o riginal projector p ackaging, back into the lens opening to
prevent intrusion of dust. This plastic c
over prev ents that dust is entering the projector.
If no lens is installed the lasers of the Thor series projector can not be pow ered. The Standby button en Light
button will light u p red. T he Comm unicator w ill also show the error m essag e that there is no lens installed.

Motorized lens adjustment
The Thor is equipped with a m otorized lens shift and zoom & focus functionality.
