6.3 DESCALER Cycle Remove hard water deposits from wash chamber as follows using
the DESCALER cycle. This cycle should be performed each week.
NOTE: Depending on hardness of water being used, it may be neces-
sary to remove hard water deposits more often. Remove deposits
from wash chamber whenever deposits become visible.
IMPORTANT: In case a malfunction occurs and an alarm is displayed
during DESCALER cycle, press ALARM ACK touch pad and call
STERIS.
NOTE: DESCALER cycle is approximately one hour, depending on
options present.
1. In Mode Selection screen, press AUTOMATIC touch pad. Cycle
Selection screen appears.
2. Press RIGHT arrow touch pad to advance cycle menus until
DESCALER cycle is available.
3. Press DESCALER touch pad to select.
4. Press START CYCLE touch pad. Cycle proceeds as pro-
grammed.
5. All tanks drain completely to ensure only clean water is being
used. When all tanks are completely drained, tanks start filling
with clean water. Then, sump is filled with water from alkaline
tank, descaler injection starts. Once descaling is completed,
washer proceeds to rinse alkaline tank.
6. The same sequence is repeated for Rinse and Acid (if Additional
Wash Tank option is present) tanks. Once Rinse treatment is
completed in all tanks, a Vapor Removal phase starts.
7. When OPEN DOORS touch pads are available, press DOOR
OPEN touch pad on unload side to open door and allow wash
chamber to cool down.
8. Verify sump filters in bottom of sump for debris. Clean suction
plate if necessary. Display returns to Mode Selection screen.
