6.4 Chemical
Container
Replacement
To achieve maximum cleaning efficiency, select a chemical appro-
priate to soil type being processed. Refer to S
ECTION 2.4, CHEMICAL
ADDITIVES SPECIFICATIONS, and always follow chemical manufacturer's
recommendations for amount of chemical to be used.
NOTE: When using chemicals note the following:
1) Contact STERIS for information on specific cleaning and descal-
ing products recommended for use with this equipment.
2) Always use a non-foaming chemical for effective cleaning and
proper pump operation.
3) Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for this
procedure.
• When chemical is low or has run out:
1. On load side of washer, turn LOCK/UNLOCK/INIT key selector
to LOCK position. Remove key from selector and keep on
yourself. Display shows:
WASHER LOCKED
2. Remove pickup tube from empty container. Follow proper dis-
posal instructions found on chemical container.
3. Verify pickup tube and filter. Clean if obstructed.
4. Install a new container.
5. Insert color-coded pickup tube into new corresponding con-
tainer. Ensure pickup tube is upright.
System is self-priming; no other operation is necessary.
6. Using key, turn LOCK/UNLOCK/INIT key selector to UNLOCK
position. Display shows Mode Selection screen.
