9 Service Instructions
9.1 General Safety Precautions
Any time you are working on electrical components, you have to observe the relevant
safety regulations. Please refer to the Safety Summary at the beginning of this operating
manual.
9.2 Evaluation Unit LB 444 K-40
The evaluation unit is provided with an error control which also monitors the detector
functions. An error code appears on the display if an error is detected. For information
about the error and possible causes please refer to the error code list. In case of
hardware errors the evaluation unit has to be replaced.
If no error code is displayed, the electronics is working properly and all measured values
and parameters lie in the normal possible range. Possible function problems must then
have another cause.
“Total Reset” should be performed only in exceptional cases and after consultation with
Berthold.
To perform a “Total Reset”, turn the instrument off; then push the Clear button while
you turn the instrument on.
All entered date will be deleted and the default values restored.
