An uninstalled axial piston unit must bepreserved with corrosion protection for
theduration ofstorage.
The following instructions only refer toaxial piston units operated with
hydraulicfluid onamineral oil basis. Other hydraulic fluids require other specific
preservation measures. In such acase, consult your local contact person; you can
find their contact information at
www.boschrexroth.com/addresses
BoschRexroth recommends thefollowing procedure:
1. Clean theaxial piston unit; see chapter10.1 "Cleaning and care" onpage54.
2. Drain theaxial piston unit.
3. For storage times up to12 months: Moisten theinside oftheaxial piston unit
with mineral oil and fill with approx. 100 ml mineral oil.
For storage times up to24 months: Fill theaxial piston unit with VCI329
corrosion protection (20 ml).

5. Coat unpainted areas oftheaxial piston unit with mineral oil orsuitable,
easilyremovable corrosion protection, e.g. acid-free grease.
6. Package theaxial piston unit with desiccant incorrosion protection film soit
isairproof.
7. Store theaxial piston unit inashock-proof manner; see "Requirement"
onpage26 inthis chapter.
