Locating/eliminating communication problems
If communication problems arise during
operation of the pump in
the SpaceStation, the blue LED on the pump will flash. If all pumps
flash blue, this means that they are no longer communicating via
CAN and are therefore not communicating with the SpaceCover
either.
1. Disconnect the SpaceStation briefly from the
mains supply
and then reconnect. Check whether this action remedies the
fault.
2. Check the display on the pumps.
The display must be active on all the pumps (not dark), show
the power-o
n symbol and be set to the same language. (If
English appears instead of the set language, this means that
the default data are loaded, which is an indication of a pos-
sible pump fault.)
3. Use the HiBaSeD with the CAN Box
to check whether all
pumps are signaling their presence.
Move the pumps one after the other in the SpaceStation, in-
cluding any interconnected SpaceStation modules. Check
whether
this causes communication to fail.
4. Remove all pumps with communication problems from the
SpaceStation.
If a pump flashes when it is removed fr
om the SpaceStation,
it needs to be calibrated; a serial number assigned twice will
also cause the blue LED to flash.
5. Visually check connectors P2 (pump) and F2A - F2D
(Spa
ceStation), and, where relevant, F3 - F5 (if several
SpaceStation modules are used) on the affected pumps and
slots on the SpaceStation.
Clean if corroded or dirty (see „Cleaning of the connector“
pg. 4 - 2). Replace if any defect is visible (for example, bent
contacts, if connectors F2A - F2D do
not properly engage
with the device).
6. Perform function check. If the communicatio
n fault persists:
a) Perform test with one pump in the SpaceStation in the
a
ffected slots. If only one slot is affected by the fault, the
SpaceStation is probably defective.
b) Perform the same test with another pump in the
S
paceStation. If the fault occurs again, the SpaceStation
is probably defective, otherwise the first pump is defec-
tive.
