Transmission lubricant, checking
and topping up

Remove the cover (1).
2 Trim the sterndrive up until the oil filler hole is
horizontal.
3 Remove the oil filler hole plug (2).
4 Check that the oil level is 40 mm (1.6") below the
rim of the oil filler hole.
5 If the oil level is too low, fill oil to the level illustrated.
Be careful not to overfill with oil. For oil grade and
quantity, refer to the Technical Data, page 134
section.
6 Tighten the plug and install the cover.
NOTICE! The oil must have a golden brown nuance. If
the oil is gray, water has entered the sterndrive. In this
case let a Bukh workshop carry out checks on the
sterndrive.
