Difficulty hearing over the CapTel 840 PLUS handset
Try adjusting the volume setting by pressing the VOLUME bar. To increase
the volume, press and hold the right side of the bar. Watch the status lights
above the VOLUME bar to know what the setting is. See page 26.
Try adjusting the TONE setting to enhance different frequency sounds. Press
the TONE key to emphasize HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW frequency sounds. See
page 27 for details.
Display screen seems to be “ stuck” at Waiting for Captions
status bar. Nothing seems to be happening.
• Hang up your CapTel 840 PLUS phone and try to place the call again.
If you are still experiencing the problem, unplug your CapTel 840 PLUS
from the power adapter, wait 10 seconds, then plug the power back in
again. This “resets” the CapTel 840 PLUS, in the same way you might “reset”
your computer. Try making the call again.
NOTE: If you reset your CapTel phone, any conversations saved in memory
will be erased.
• If the problem still persists, please contact CapTel Customer Service for help.
I sometimes see a word in [brackets] in the middle of the
captions. Why is the word in brackets?
At times, the captioning service may correct word errors that occur in the
captions. The corrected word appears in [brackets] to let you know a
correction has been made. There may be a slight delay between the time
that the word error occurs and the time that the correction in brackets
appears. If you are unclear about what was said, ask your caller to clarify.
