About the Instrument
The EDGE is the most advanced automated solvent extraction system available. By combining pressurized uid
extraction and dispersive solid phase extraction, the EDGE is able to drastically reduce sample preparation time
and the potential for human error. The result is fast, simple, and efcient extractions.
This manual is intended for use by both novice and experienced users for the operation and maintenance of the
EDGE automated extraction system. Additional information, including but not limited to: training notes and videos,
application notes, software updates, and parts can be viewed on CEM’s website at http://cem.com/edge.
This manual refers to EDGE software version 1.16 for all software information, including screenshots and technical
information.
This Manual should be used in conjunction with the EDGE Site Prep Guide (P/N FM0067) and EDGE Packing
Guide (P/N 600940.) Read and fully understand all documentation before operating the instrument.
