What to do if the Solvent/Extract Recovery is low in CEM EDGE system?
    • D
      David BrownAug 1, 2025
Low solvent or extract recovery in your CEM Laboratory Equipment may be due to empty solvent bottles. Ensure that the solvent bottles are adequately filled by adding solvent. It could also be caused by slow sample draining. To resolve this, increase the pore size of the Q-Disc. If you are working with cellulose, increase the C#.

How to fix a Possible System Clog in CEM EDGE system Laboratory Equipment?
    • D
      Daniel LeeAug 5, 2025
A possible system clog in your CEM Laboratory Equipment can manifest as slow sample draining. Try increasing the pore size of the Q-Disc. For cellulose, increase C#. Another cause could be overfilled Q-Cups. If this is the case, clean the actuator. Check the “Routine Maintenance” and “Sample Preparation” sections for instructions and preventative measures.

What to do if Max Pressure is Exceeded in CEM EDGE system?
    • L
      Lisa McdonaldAug 9, 2025
If the maximum pressure is exceeded with your CEM Laboratory Equipment, it's likely that the pressure generated at the current temperature exceeds the system's maximum pressure. To resolve this, decrease the method temperature or decrease the amount of sample being used.

Why are recoveries low with my CEM EDGE system Laboratory Equipment?
    • D
      dawn02Aug 14, 2025
If you are experiencing low recoveries with your CEM Laboratory Equipment, it could be due to a hold time that is not long enough. Try increasing the hold time by 1 minute. Alternatively, the temperature may be incorrect. In this case, increase the temperature by 10 °C, or decrease it by 10 °C if you are working with temperature-sensitive analytes.

Why is the Q-Cup sticking to the actuator in my CEM Laboratory Equipment?
    • J
      Joshua JohnsonAug 18, 2025
If the Q-Cup is sticking to the actuator in your CEM Laboratory Equipment, it might be because the Q-Cups are dirty. Try cleaning the Q-Cups. Another possible cause is that the Q-Cups are overfilled. In this case, clean the actuator. See “Routine Maintenance” for instructions. See “Sample Preparation” for preventative measures.

How to remove Particulates in extract from CEM EDGE system?
    • D
      Dale BallardAug 22, 2025
If you find particulates in the extract from your CEM Laboratory Equipment, it may be due to the porosity of the samples being less than that of the Q-Disc. Try decreasing the pore size of the Q-disc. For cellulose, decrease C#.

What to do if there is Water in the extract in CEM EDGE system Laboratory Equipment?
    • M
      melissanguyenAug 27, 2025
If there is water in the extract from your CEM Laboratory Equipment, the sample is likely wet. To resolve this, increase the amount of drying agent used.
