OUT OF SCANNING RANGE
Try adjusting the scanning distance from the scanner to the barcode.
CANNOT TRANSMIT/RECEIVE DATA
USING RS-232 CABLE
Check if the RS-232 connection is correct and secured.
Make sure the serial port settings on your PC are consistent with the serial
parameters on the mobile computer. Try to establish connection again.
If the problem persists, run the Echo Test to check if the RS-232 interface between
the mobile computer and your PC is working. (See
3.3.8 Echo Test.)
USING USB CABLE
Check if the USB connection is correct and secured.
Check if the USB driver has been installed.
If the problem persists, run the Echo Test to check if the USB interface between the
mobile computer and the host is working. (See
3.3.8 Echo Test.)
Note: (1) If you are using USB Virtual COM for the first time, you must install its driver
from the CD-ROM. Driver version 5.3 or later is required. Please remove older
versions! The virtual COM port will not be assigned until the USB port is in use.
(2) If you are using USB Virtual COM_CDC for the first time, you must install its
driver from the CD-ROM. USB CDC driver installer can be found in the “Windows”
folder. It will proceed to install the driver to your PC.
(3) A standard USB cable releases a COM port in the following conditions: (i) the
cable is detached from the mobile computer directly, (ii) the cable is detached
from the cradle directly, (iii) the cable is attached to the cradle, but the mobile
computer is removed from the cradle, (iv) the mobile computer is powered off, (v)
no application that requires a virtual COM port is running on the mobile computer.
(4) For an application program that requires a COM port to be occupied all the
time, it is suggested that you use a 308 USB Virtual COM Interface cable instead.
VIA BLUETOOTH
Make sure the distance between the mobile computer and a target device is within
proper range. Try to establish connection again.
Check if the relevant settings are correct. (See 3.7 Bluetooth Menu.)
If the problem persists, run the Echo Test to check if the connection is working
properly. (See
3.7.4 Echo Tests.)
