c) When the engine is o and the machine is completely cool, check that the level of pump oil is at the
reference mark on the volumetric compensator(32).
For any touch ups, refer to the types of lubricants indicated in the paragraph
“SPECIFICATIONS AND
TECHNICAL DATA”.
d) If present, check the correct ination of the pressure accumulator by means of a normal compressed-air
gun with pressure gauge of the type of those used to check tyre ination pressure.
Ination depends on the pressure range within which the machine will be operating, according to the
indications of the following table:
OPERATING PRESSURE ACCUMULATOR INFLATION PRESSURE
bar psi bar psi
2 - 5 29 -73 2 29
5 - 10 73 - 145 2 - 5 29 - 73
10 - 20 145 - 290 5 - 7 72 - 102
20 - 40 290 - 580 7 102
e) Check that the suction lter (5) is clean and, in the case of the ECO models, that the knob(42) is correctly
inserted and positioned (refer to the
"CLEANING THE FILTERS"
paragraph).
f) Check correct tyre ination: do not exceed the maximum pressure given on the tyre itself.
CAUTION
• In case of operation at very low temperatures, make sure there is no ice inside the pump pipes and tank.
• Perform the checks required by routine maintenance, with special reference to those relating to the oil.
CHECKING AND CONNECTING UP TO THE POWER SUPPLY
MACHINES WITH ELECTRIC MOTOR
WARNING
• A
SKILLED TECHNICIAN
must:
- make sure the power supply of the machine features a suitable fuse and is in conformity with the details
shown on the plate (37/45): in particular, the power voltage must not be outside the ±5% range;
- connect a plug in compliance with the laws applicable in the country where the machine is installed,
in the case of the power lead being without such plug and of the machine not being permanently
connected to a power supply source.
• The connection to the power source must be made by a
SKILLED TECHNICIAN
and must be in compliance
with the requirements of IEC60364-1.
• The power supply line of the machine must be tted with a switch able to interrupt the power supply
whenever ground dispersion exceeds 30mA for 30ms or with a device for testing the earth circuit.
• If the machine does not have a power lead and plug, or another device for disconnecting it from the
mains, with a contact opening distance that allows complete disconnection in overvoltage III category
conditions, such disconnection devices must be tted to the supply mains in compliance with installation
regulations.
NOTE
: in this manual, for the sake of simplicity, the machine shall always be deemed connected to the
power mains by means of a plug.
• If the machine is permanently connected to the power supply, this means:
- the mains disconnection device in o (“0”) position is equivalent to removing the plug from the power
socket;
- the mains disconnection device in on (“1”) position is equivalent to tting the plug in the power socket.
• In the event of the power lead being too short, an extension can be used as long as this does not exceed
50m/164ft, and that the cross section of the leads is at least 1.5mm
2
.
•
WARNING
. If an extension is used, the plug and the socket must be of the sealed-immersion type.
•
WARNING
. Inadequate extensions can be dangerous.
• Do not use reductions or adapters between power plug and socket.
