Connect the CAP M Cables
Completethefollowingproceduresintheorderinwhichtheyarepresented.Unlessotherwisenoted,each

Obtain the Required Cable Material
ContactyourlocalCommScopesalesrepresentativetoobtainthefollowingcomponents,asrequired,forthis
installation.
• Pertheinstallationplan,obtaineitherSingleModeFiber(SMF)orMultiModeFiber(MMF)thatisof
sufficientlengthtoreachfromtheCAP
MtotheClassicCANorTEN.
• ObtainatleastoneOpticalOCTISKit(PN7770612).AllinstallationsrequireoneOpticalOCTISKit,which
isincludedintheCAP
Mshipment.IfcascadingaSecondaryCAPM,asecondOpticalOCTISKitisrequired.
• ObtainSFP+Modulepairsthatareappropriateforthisinstallation.Table10identifiestheavailableSFP+
Modulesandthemaximumrangeforeach.
• IfconnectinganexternalEthernetdevicesuchasWiFiorIPcamera,anEthernetOCTISKit(PN7760652)
andappropriateCATcableforthedevice.
Do not remove protective caps from any of the connectors until instructed to do so.
