BEC62(08) product overview
The BEC62(08) is a three-phase, four wire, STS compliant prepayment electricity meter ideal for
residential, commercial and light industrial electricity metering applications.
The device is also termed a “split” meter, consisting of two items; the MCU (measurement control unit
and the UIU (User interface unit). The MCU is installed outside the customer premises in a meter box
or kiosk, while the UIU sits inside the customer premises.
The BEC62(08) solution provides a number of innovations, the split function serves as a great
advantage to the utility as access to the meter is restricted, thereby reducing the chance of meter
tamper. The unit also has a wide range of programmable functions, to provide a high level of
customisation for each utility.
