UPC-A — continued
Add-ons
Add-ons (or supplemental characters) are commonly added to the end of
UPC-A bar codes. The imager will read the add-ons if they are enabled
and in the field of view. Three add-on types are supported: 2-digit, 5-
digit and UCC/EAN 128. Supported options are:
None — This option directs the imager to ignore add-on portion of a
UPC-A bar code but still read the main portion of the bar code.
2 Digits — The imager will read 2-digit add-ons with the UPC-A label.
5 Digits — The imager will read 5-digit add-ons with the UPC-A label.
2 and 5 Digits — The imager will read 2- and 5-digit add-ons with the
UPC-A label.
UCC/EAN 128 — The imager will read UCC/EAN 128 add-ons with
the UPC-A label.
2-Digit & UCC/EAN 128 — The imager will read 2-digit and UCC/
EAN 128 add-ons with the UPC-A label.
5-Digit & UCC/EAN 128 — The imager will read 5-digit and UCC/
EAN 128 add-ons with the UPC-A label.
All — The imager will read 2-digit, 5-digit and UCC/EAN 128 add-ons
with the UPC-A label.
