Function Description

The DSE7400 Configuration Suite allows for extensive customization of the module's operation. The "Edit Config" section enables changes to input, output, and LED functions, system timers, and level settings to suit specific applications.

Module Options:

Description: Free entry boxes allow users to add a description to the configuration file, such as job number, customer name, or engineer's name.
LED Indicators: User-configurable LED indicators can be assigned various functions.
Miscellaneous Options:
- Enable fast loading feature: When enabled, the safety on timer terminates once all monitored parameters reach normal settings, allowing the generator to go on load faster. This is useful for standby controllers or small engines prone to overspeed alarms on startup.
- Audible alarm prior to starting: Provides an audible warning during the pre-heat timer in AUTO mode.
- All Warnings Are Latched: Warnings and pre-alarms can be configured to latch when triggered, requiring a manual reset.
- Enable Alternative Breaker Button Control: Allows alternative control of breaker buttons (e.g., Open Mains breaker / Close mains breaker).
- Enable sleep mode: The module can enter "sleep mode" if left in manual mode for a prolonged time without button presses.
- Enable manual fuel pump control: Allows manual fuel pump control when viewing the "fuel level" instrument page.
- Support right-left languages in module strings: Determines text input direction for configurable text.
Configurable Status Screens: Users can design custom status screens to display specific instruments or a summary screen, cycling automatically without user intervention.
Event Log: Configurable to store various events, including Power up, Mains fail, Mains return, ECU shutdown alarms, Shutdown alarms, Electrical trip alarms, Latched warnings, Unlatched warnings, Log Fuel Level, and Log When At Rest. Logged events can also trigger modem 'dial outs' and SMS messages if configured.
Data Logging: Supports logging to internal and external memory. Users can select the logging interval and up to twenty instruments/items to be logged. Options include logging only when the engine is running, logging to a USB drive, and overwriting the oldest data when memory is full or stopping recording.

Application Settings:

Engine Type: Selection for Conventional Diesel, Gas, or Electronic (CAN/Modbus) engines.
ECU (ECM) Options:
- Enhanced J1939: Enables reading and displaying basic or enhanced instrumentation lists from the engine ECU.
- Alternative Engine Speed: Allows the engine to run at a nominal or alternative speed.
- Modbus Engine Comms Port: Configures the RS485 or DSENet port for engine communication.
Disable Protections: Allows disabling engine shutdown protections, with options for "Never," "Always," or "On Input." An alarm can be configured to indicate when protections are disabled.
Auto Voltage Sensing (DSE 7410 only): Automatically detects nominal voltage, frequency, and alternator topology during the safety delay timer, selecting the most appropriate alternative configuration. An "Over Voltage During Auto Sensing Trip" setting provides protection during this period.

Input Configuration:

Oil Pressure, Coolant Temperature, Fuel Level, Flexible Sensor: Each input type has configurable alarm trip points (pre-alarm, electrical trip, shutdown), return settings, and activation delays. Sensor curves can be edited for non-listed sensors.
Digital Inputs: Configurable functions (e.g., Remote Start on Load, Alarm Mute), polarity (close or open to activate), arming conditions (Never, Always, Active from Starting, Active from End of Safety Timer), and activation delays. A text display can be configured for when the alarm is triggered.

Output Configuration:

Digital Outputs and Virtual LEDs: Outputs can be assigned various sources (e.g., Fuel Relay, Air Flap Alarm, Auto Mode, Battery High Voltage) and polarity (energise or de-energise). Virtual LEDs are for SCADA monitoring or third-party systems.

Start Timers: Includes Remote Start Off Load, Remote Start On Load, Mains fail, Telemetry Start, Mains Transient Delay, Pre-heat, Pre-heat bypass, Cranking time, Crank rest time, Engage Attempt time, Engage Rest Time, Delay Crank, Smoke limit, Smoke limit off, Safety on delay, Warming up time, and Sensor fail delay.
Load / Stopping Timers: Includes Transfer time/Load Delay, Breaker close pulse, Breaker Trip pulse, Return delay, Cooling time, ETS Solenoid hold, Fail to stop delay, and Generator transient delay.

Generator Settings:

Generator Options: Alternator fitted, Poles, VT Fitted, Generator Breaker Control (alarm for fail to open/close), Generator Phase Rotation (alarm for incorrect rotation), and Generator Rating (kW and kVAr).
Generator Voltage Alarms: Under Voltage and Over Voltage alarms with configurable trip points, return settings, and actions.
Generator Frequency Alarms: Under Frequency and Over Frequency alarms with configurable trip points, return settings, and actions.
Generator Current: CT Primary/Secondary, CT Location (Gen/Load), Full Load Rating, Earth CT Primary.
Generator Current Alarms: Overcurrent (Immediate Warning, IDMT Alarm), Short Circuit, Negative Phase Sequence, and Earth Fault alarms with configurable trip points, time multipliers, and actions.

Alternative Configurations:

Allows for up to three alternative configurations in addition to the main one, useful for different AC requirements (e.g., 50Hz/60Hz, 120V/240V). Selection can be via software, fascia editor, external signal, or auto voltage sensing.
