Pack sensors
The two pack sensors mounted across the infeed & scale conveyors are a fibre optic type or an
optoelectronic retro reflective type sensor. An overhead mount version is also available.
Fibre optic sensor (Omron E3X-NA11)
The sensor amplifiers are located inside the control box and need to be adjusted to the correct sensitivity in
order to detect packs.
The sensors obtain a 24v supply from the 24v terminal rail, brown wire +24v, blue wire 0v
The Operation Mode Selector selects the operating mode as follows: Light-ON (incident light) or Dark-ON
(interrupted light), set to D-ON.
The Timer switch should always be set to OFF.
The sensitivity adjuster is an eight turn type with a slipping clutch, thus when the minimum or maximum set-
ting is reached it can still be turned although it will have no more effect.
The sensitivity scale is numbered from 1 to 8 and has a pointer which moves along the scale as the sensi-
tivity adjuster is turned.
The Orange light is the Operation/Pack indicator. The Red/Green lights are the strength indicator for both
