Drive Axle Oil, Transmission Oil,
Oil Filter & Strainer - Check, Clean,
Change
WARNING
Hot oil and components can cause personal
injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to
contact skin.
Park the lift truck level, with the forks lowered,
parking brake engaged, direction control lever in
NEUTRAL and the engine stopped.
1.
Remove drive axle drain plug (1-1), (1-2) and
transmission drain plug (2). Allow the oil to drain
into a suitable container. Clean the magnetic
drain plug. Check O-ring seal and replace if
necessary. Remove the spring and the strainer.

Wash the strainer assembly in clean,
nonflammable solvent and dry it. Install the
strainer assembly.
3.
Remove the floor mat and the floor plate.
4.
Remove and discard the oil filter.
5.
Wipe off the filter base. Make certain that all of
the old seal is removed.
6.
Apply a small amount of clean oil on the seal of
the new filter.
7.
Install the filter by hand. When the filter contacts
the base, tighten an additional 3/4 turn.
8.
Remove the dip stick/filter cap. Fill the
compartment with oil. See “Refill Capacities”.
9.
Install the dip stick/filter cap.
