Testing the lung demand valve
Normal pressure lung demand valve with
medium pressure coupling
Preparing the test device
Necessary accessories:
— Plug 9/20 (12 94 091)
— Test piece PE (R 51 591)
— Test piece P (R 50 028)
— ESA adaptor (AG 02 406)
Detach the test head.
Seal the medium pressure
hose of the lung demand valve
with the plug (1).
Connect the lung demand
valve with the corresponding
test piece /adaptor to the round
thread connection (2).
Open the compressed air supply.
Activate the measuring point
"Round thread connection" (3).
Check for leaks
Set the test time

Generate the test pressure

Briefly pull the joystick (2) for
fine adjustment forwards sev-
eral times.
The pressure is displayed on
the low pressure manometer (3).
Start the timer (1).
Read the pressure at the end of the test time and com-
pare the pressure difference with the target value

Testing the opening pressure
Detach the lung demand valve
from the round thread connec-
tion.
Remove the plug and connect
the medium pressure hose (1).
The coupling must engage.
Reconnect the lung demand valve to the round thread
connection (2).
Slowly generate a negative pressure (3).
Observe the manometer (4).
Read the opening pressure and compare with the tar-
get value

NOTICE
As an alternative to the following description, the func-
tioning of the lung demand valve can be tested in nor-
mal position (with full-face mask on the test head).

Set the test time
