3.2 Take the field bus into operation

All modules are addressed in sequence, the complete configuration is stored
retentively in the gateway as target configuration. After this the SWD-LED
lights green, continuous light.
3.1.2 Switching on when the target configuration is stored
If a target configuration is already stored in the gateway, the system will
check, every time the gateway is switched on, whether the modules that are
actually on the SWD line match the target configuration in the gateway. The
SWD LED on the gateway will indicate the result of this check ￫ Section
“8.7 LEDs on the device”, page 97.
3.1.3 Switching the gateway on when a planned SWD configuration is already stored
If a planned SWD configuration is stored in the gateway, the system will
check whether the stored target configuration matches the planned SWD
configuration in the gateway. The Config LED on the gateway will indicate
the result of this check ￫ Section “8.7 LEDs on the device”, page 97.
If there is no planned SWD configuration stored in the gateway, or if the
order of the modules on the SWD line has changed, follow the steps in the
following description: ￫ Chapter 4 "Creating a planned SmartWire-DTSmart-
Wire-DT configuration in SWD-Assist“, page 33.
3.2 Take the field bus into operation
If you are putting the field bus into operation for the first time, you will first
have to commission the corresponding PLC programming environment
￫ Chapter 5 "Commissioning the PLC programming environment“, page
43.
Generally speaking, the following basic initial commissioning steps need to
be carried out:
1 Add function block libraries to the PLC programming environment.
2 Open or create the project in the PLC programming environment.
3 Search for the field bus master in the PLC programming environment
(target system) and configure the corresponding network settings
4 Select the gateway as a field bus module.
5 Configure the gateway's and the SWD modules' parameters in the PLC
programming environment

If the target configuration import process cannot be started and
the SWD LED is showing an orange light, disconnect the Smart-
Wire-DT gateway's field bus connection and try importing the
target configuration again.

If the SWD LED shows a solid red light, no addresses have
been assigned to any of the SWD modules. If this happens,
check the SWD line - especially the SmartWire-DT connection.
