5.6.2 Master-slave mode for the synchronisation of the defrost termination
5.6.2.1 Master-slave mode for the synchronisation of multiple controllers
Operation and configuration
Master: The internal defrost timer must be active on one of the participating case controllers (menu 3-2,
parameter ). This case controller is then designated as the master.
Abtauuhr = INT
Slave: The other case controllers must be configured for external defrost start (menu 3-2, parameter
). These are then automatically slave case controllers.

The defrost relay is switched off when the defrost end temperature is reached. Cooling is only
resumed when all the control zones of all the participating controllers have completed the defrost or
the safe defrost time has elapsed.
Defrost process example
Case controller UA M is configured as master. Case controller UA S is configured as slave. The synchronised
master / slave defrost process is initiated using the integral defrost timer:
The following must be noted for this example:
The internal defrost signal is present over the safe defrost time. However, the end of the defrost process entire
generally depends on switching off the last defrost relay.
5.6.2.2 Necessary settings for the master / slave mode
Controller - Hardware
In order to activate the master/slave mode, the coding switch 4 on the DIP switch 3 on the case controller must
be set to .ON
