3.2 Upgrade scenarios
An upgrade is an advancement to a higher expansion stage with extended scope of functions (see Expansion
stages of the Virtus 5 series) and requires a licence key. The following upgrade scenario is possible:
Upgrade within the Virtus 5 series
e.g. VSC 5410 to VSC 5510, see menu 4-1-12 - System Upgrade.
Licence key required.
3.3 Connections in the complete design
Inputs and outputs - bottom
2 x digital inputs 230 V AC, floating as alarm and signal inputs (external alarms) and meter reading
3 x relay outputs 230 V AC, floating:
2 x bistable changeover contacts for signalling alarm of PRIO 1 and PRIO 2, e.g. for connection to a
telephone dialling device
1 x changeover contact (AUX) for, e.g. an audible signalling unit
The system centre can be expanded with up to max. 4 SIOX extension modules. For each SIOX, 12
additional digital inputs (for meters, alarms etc.) and 8 additional relay outputs (for week timers, load
shedding) are available.

The licence key is provided by Eckelmann AG and must be paid for. In this case, please contact your
