LOADING PASSENGERS
WITH THE PARATRANSIT
LIFT
Certain precautionary steps specified
below must be followed when using the
paratransit lift:
1. Stop the bus in a safe place. Ensure
there is enough room to deploy
the lift onto a level surface, free of
obstructions and people.
2. Place the transmission into PARK (P)
and set the parking brake.
3. Open the door.
4. Ensuring the bus is secured, stand
outside the entrance door to operate
the lift.
5. Depending on the optional
equipment for your bus, deploy the lift
using the lift toggle switch. See your
lift operator’s manual for
more information.
6. When paratransit loading is
complete, check that the lift is free of
any users, then stow the lift using the
lift toggle switch.
7. Close the entrance door.
8. Release the parking brake and move
the transmission to the necessary
drive range. Resume transit when
traffic allows for a safe re-entry to the
road.
