WHEELCHAIR TIE-DOWN
& OCCUPANT RESTRAINT
SYSTEM (WTORS)
The transport of wheelchair dependent
passengers requires special
precautions to ensure passenger safety.
The driver is required to review the
manufacturer`s materials which
came with this bus to fully understand
how to safely and properly secure a
wheelchair dependent passenger with
the wheelchair tie-down & occupant
restraint system.
Where equipped, buses are built with
flexible securement arrangements
which consist of lengths of L-Track for
floor and wall anchorages, positioned
into stations throughout the vehicle.
The driver uses specific retractors, lap-
belts and webbing loops to secure each
wheelchair dependent passenger.
EACH WHEELCHAIR
STATION REQUIRES:
1. Four retractors with proper floor
anchorage fittings
2. One lap belt assembly
3. One shoulder belt assembly, may be
in combination with the lap belt
4. Two webbing loops
5. One belt cutter
