3.2 Setup of the PlasmaQuant MS

Essentially the PlasmaQuant MS consists of the following components

 Sample introduction system with peristaltic pump, nebulizer, spray chamber and

torch

 Plasma compartment with plasma generation and interference management

 Mass spectrometer compartment with ion optics, mass analyzer and detector

Devices with the Adaptive Mass Range (AMR) upgrade option have a limited isotope

separation for ions of an atomic mass of more than 230 amu (atomic mass units) as

stipulated by the applicable export regulations. The resolution of the atomic mass

> 230 amu is > 2 amu.
