9 RS232C interface
The controller 9-pin RS232C connector is designed for a connection to a standard
PC serial interface (XR2- fig. 12.1a).
9.1 Interface settings
The standard setup for the RS232C Interface is: Bits/sec: 9600
Parity: N
Bits per symbol: 8
Stop bit: 1
Protocol mode: on
9.2 Changing the RS 232 Settings
ÿ switch off the controller
ÿ press the * key and hold it down while switching on the controller
ÿ release the * key when the LED inside the "Enter"(3) key lights, the controller is in
setup mode now
ÿ if the IEEE interface option is implemented the left display will show IEEE and
the address in the right display (17)
ÿ use the up/down (7/8) keys to select the RS 232 setup. Now the left display
shows 232C, the right display (17) shows the transmission rate
ÿ press enter and the rate will start to flash
ÿ now you can enter a new transmission rate (1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 Bit/second)
by using the numeric keys 1-4
key 1 = 1200
key 2 = 2400
key 3 = 4800
key 4 = 9600
ÿ end the procedure by pressing the "Enter" key
ÿ to set the protocol mode use the up "ÿ"/down" " keys again, until ”Proto” is
shown on the left display
ÿ press enter and the left display starts to flash
ÿ with the numeric keys 1 and 2 you can choose ”ErS” or ”no” Protocol on the
display
ÿ press enter to confirm
ÿ to leave the setup mode press the * key
The new settings are now stored in the controller's nonvolatile memory
