In this case, no real-time demands are imposed on the application. A measur-
ing data capture on a PC, which generally does not have to meet any high real-
time requirements, can be connected directly to a module chain. With a real-
time capable master, such as a rapid prototyping system, access to many dif

ferent types of I/O signals is possible at extremely short cycle times.
