7.2 Working with the machine
7.2.1 General safety and operating instructions
The following section contains some general notes on safety and operation for working with the transfer
trailer, repeated and summarized together for better clarity:
1. The weights and loads specified on the type plate must be observed.
2. Note the maximum permitted drawbar load of the trailer coupling.
(Note the maximum permitted coupling load for the drawbar.)
3. When parking the vehicle, make sure the support foot is correctly locked.
4. Never park the transfer trailer on the supporting mechanism while it is loaded.
Park the transfer trailer so that it is stable. If the ground is soft, increase the size of the support
plate of the supporting foot.
5. When parking the trailer, secure it against rolling away (parking brake, wheel chocks).
6. The transfer trailer must only be attached with the designated devices and in compliance with
regulations.
Connect the brake system and check to ensure it is functioning properly.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
7. There is a risk of injury when coupling and uncoupling the transfer trailer to and from the tractor.
(Danger due to crushing and shearing points when actuating the support gear.)
Keep children away!
8. When coupling, make sure that the trailer coupling pin is secured.
9. In the area around the tractor three-point linkage, there is a risk of injury at crushing or shearing
points.
10. The drive shafts must meet the requirements of the attachment manufacturer.
11. The drive shaft must only be coupled or uncoupled when the tractor engine is switched off.
12. For wide angle drive shafts, make sure the wide angle joint is connected on the tractor side.
13. Ensure that the drive shaft couplings are correctly engaged.
14. Secure the drive shaft with the chain to prevent it turning.
15. Do not stand on the drive shaft.
16. When the drive shaft is switched on, avoid driving around tight bends.
17. Before first-time start-up, move all protective devices to the safety position.
18. Before coupling or uncoupling the vehicle, secure it against rolling away using the parking brake
and/or wheel chocks.
19. Movable structural parts, such as the discharge tube, must be secured in their end positions.
Special caution is required when opening and closing these parts.
20. Move all devices to the transport position before driving on public roads.
21. Allow for reduced load on the tractor front axle and loss of steering ability due to the drawbar
load of the transfer trailer.
22. There must be no persons in the danger zone when the trailer is being unloaded.
